Spring 2019

God's blessings to you for your continued interest and support for Jean and his ongoing missions in Madagascar. We created this site to make it easy for you to receive new photos and written updates of progress in Madagascar.

Some pictures from Jean's national bus travel down to Irina for discussion and exploration of repairs vs. building a new church. After several days of prayer and discussion, it was decided the best option was to build a new church.  These pictures are from the ground breaking ceremony for new church in Irina.

January 2019

March 2019 Jean traveled back to Irina for the ground breaking ceremony and laying of the cornerstone service 2 months later.  They had quite the crew show up to help; including several other representative congregants from other denominations and the mayor of the village as well as many laity.

The man with the white t-shirt is the representative of the Malagasy Lutheran Synod that the Irina church falls in.  He expressed his great thanks to all those helping the Malagasy Lutheran church.

This man is the mayor of the village and some of the surrounding villages.  He is very happy to see positive change in his town.

This is the old Catechist's house wall that is similar to those that they removed from the existing church building.  As you can see the material doesn't hold up to the volume of rain this area receives in Madagascar.

The money sent on behalf of the young children is being used to pay their school tuition.  Jean is happy to report that they are all doing extremely well on their education and it is something that he and Aina value deeply.  He again, sends his, thanks.

If you find it in your heart to give more the new church in Irina will need additional funds to finish the project.  As always if you have any questions ask Kris or Ali.
